Acorns has a team of community workers who offer an extensive range of support to children and families in their own homes. They are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week and have developed a number of groups in the wider community.

 These include

• Sibling groups
• Adolescent forums and themed weekends
• Asian Mother’s support group
• Men’s group
• Grandparent’s group
• Bereaved carers group
• A number of parents and carers support groups

The team will help to arrange respite or emergency care at one of our hospices or will liaise with other services you may receive e.g hospital teams, community nurses, schools and social services. If a family wishes, they will also help with referring them on to other agencies and advocating on their behalf.

As well as offering advice and emotional support, the team offers families on-going support following the death of their child.
