120ft abseil!

Join us for an exciting new abseil event on Sunday 20th May!

Brave supporters are being sought to fundraise for Acorns in a new abseil event in Birmingham city centre! Brave the heights of the House of Fraser building from 120ft above the ground to support local children and their families.

Why not face your fears, challenge yourself and support Acorns at the same time?

The abseil will take place during Children’s Hospice Week (18th–25th May). This is the UK’s only awareness and fundraising week for children’s hospice services. With the theme of heroes, the week will celebrate local children's hospices which, just like superheroes, are there for people when they need them most. Why not embrace the theme by dressing up as your favourite superhero?

Fort Dunlop abseil, 2011

In May, more than 150 heroes took part in a 100ft abseil from the top of the Fort Dunlop, Birmingham to raise money for local life limited and life threatened children and their families at Acorns Children's Hospice - thank you!

Richard Rice Grubb, an Acorns Dad and whose alter ego Wolverine took part too, thanked our heroes personally:

"Acorns took great care of us at a terrible time, and still do. The abseil was amazingly good fun and great to do for Acorns. Thank you everyone!"

If you took part and have sponorship money to send in, you can send it to us at Events Team, Acorns Children's Hospice, Drakes Court, Alcester Road, Wythall, Birmingham B47 6JR. Cheques should be made payable to 'Acorns Children's Hospice'.
