Acorns in the Black Country is located in Walsall.

Outside the lounge in the hospice gardensOpened in June 1999, the hospice has ten bedrooms, a family care suite and three bedrooms for families and friends to stay. Acorns in the Black Country provides a home-from-home environment where each child receives a tailor-made package of individual care.

Facilities at the hospice include activity and jacuzzi rooms in addition to the bedrooms and dining facilities. Families are catered for within the family care suite - ground floor accommodation that has its own shower and kitchen facilities with an adjoining bedroom for the child who is staying at the hospice. Further accommodation space for family members is also available upstairs.

The hospice has a separate adolescent unit which has self-contained lounge/TV rooms with dining facilities. Electronic doors and specialist equipment give the adolescents independence and control over their environment.

Inside the playroom at the hospiceThere is a multi-sensory room with all the latest interactive equipment. The hospice has two special bedrooms where children can stay after their death in a self-contained suite.

Outside the hospice building there are landscaped gardens which provide ample space for play and activities along with a peaceful memorial garden where families can spend time reflecting and remembering a child they have lost.
