Birmingham Airport

Abseil at Birmingham International AirportBirmingham International Airport started its association with Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust back in December 2008 when it raised over £1600 in a raffle at its Christmas party. In April 2009, the relationship reached new heights with both Acorns and BIA’s CEO’s going over the edge by abseiling down the 32 metre building that is Birmingham International Airport’s headquarters in a fantastic fundraising and awareness event  when Acorns became Birmingham International Airport’s Charity of the Year.

Birmingham International Aiport’s CEO, Paul Kehoe says “ Acorns provides such a fantastic service to our local community and with the cost of looking after a child at £750 per day, they really could do with all the support they can get.”

Acorns CEO David Strudley says “Acorns relies on important partnerships such as this to help raise important awareness across the region and vital funds to support our services.”
