A HUGE thank you from everyone at Acorns to all our wonderful walkers, marvelous marshals and volunteers who made the Acorns Midnight Walk 2011 a huge success with £80,000 pledged on the night!

About the Walk

The Acorns Midnight Walk follows a circular route through the centre of Birmingham.

Starting and finishing at our new start location -Birmingham’s Victoria Square and Town Hall - the 10km (approx.) route is takes in many of Birmingham’s landmarks including Bullring, Centenary Square, Birmingham Cathedral, Jewellery Quarter, the NIA and Brindleyplace. Your event pack will include a map of the route.

The event headquarters in Victoria Square will be a hub of excitement with the atmosphere of the event beginning to build from 11pm. Registration will take place within the iconic Town Hall building. All walkers will then be able to take part in a pre-walk warm up at 11.30pm before lining up to start at the stroke of midnight!

It is expected that walkers will take between 1½ hours and 3½ hours to complete the walk. The event is not a race and all walkers are reminded that they must, for their safety, remain behind the lead marshalling team at all times.

The whole route is accessible for wheelchair users, and will be marshaled by enthusiastic volunteers, staff and a security team to keep you safe and cheer you along.Midnight Walkers at Brindleyplace 2010

All walkers will be identifiable by their Acorns Midnight Walk t-shirt and individual walker number. Everyone is encouraged to walk with friends, family and colleagues, and why not add some fancy dress or fluorescent clothing to stand out from the crowd - there will be prizes on the night!

Don’t forget to wear suitable shoes for walking and be prepared for any weather. We also recommend that you do some training walks prior to the event to prepare yourself.

Only registered participants are able to take part in the event (entries are not permitted on the night).
