The Everest Base Camp trek is the ultimate challenge of a lifetime! This world renowned classic trek from Lukla to Kala Patthar takes us through the Worlds highest mountain range, and culminates with some of the best views of Mount Everest. It is a stunning route taking in some of the most breath-taking mountain scenery imaginable. This extreme challenge takes us to a staggering altitude of 5,545m, and offers beautiful views of snowy peaks such as Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,511m) and Makalu. It is pure Himalayan magic!
The challenge is taken at a relaxed pace, with rest days for proper acclimatisation. A sound level of fitness is required to make the most of this excellent trek. The walking at times will be strenuous and we will be tested to the limit, particularly on the climb to Kala Patthar – but the rewards will be well worth it! Brief Itinerary: This is an ‘Open’ trek where you will take part in a group with people raising money for various different charities. Day 1 - Depart UK to Kathmandu. Day 2 - Pre-trek briefing in the hotel. Day 3 - Explore Kathmandu including visiting Boudhanath Stupa (one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world) and Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple in the country. Day 4, 5, 6 – Early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,827m) then start trekking to Namche Bazaar where we take time to rest and acclimatise. Day 7, 8, 9 – Trekking to Dingboche where we again stop to acclimatise. Day 10 - Refresh and acclimatise in Dingboche. Day 11, 12 – Continue trekking to reach, on day 12, Everest Base camp. Day 13, 14, 15 – Trekking back down to Phakding and then out of the river valley to Lukla. Day 16 – Return flight to Kathmandu. Day 17 - Free day in Kathmandu for sightseeing and exploring bazaars. Farewell dinner in the evening. Day 18 - Transfer to airport for flight to UK.
