Taking part in an international trek can be life changing! Whether for inspiration or fitness, motivation or friendship, you can join us to take part in the challenge of a lifetime while supporting local children and their families. Read on to hear about some of our previous treks.

18 trekkers took part in our Sahara Desert Trek in September 2010 raising an incredible £40,000. It was a tough trek with the group facing difficult terrain and very high temperatures of up to 46 degrees! The enthusiasm and commitment shown by the group ensured everyone successfully completed the trek with time spent afterwards volunteering at a local community project. We’d like to thank each trekker for taking part in this challenge in order to raise vital funds for Acorns. One trekker, Rachel Edwards, describes the trek:
“I had the most amazing but hardest 10 days trekking across the Sahara Desert for Acorns. Loved every minute of it and can't believe it is over.”

A group of intrepid trekkers took on the Zambezi River in August 2009 narrowly avoiding hippos, crocodiles, buffalo and elephants as they canoed by day and camped out by night! It was an incredible experience, the scenery was unforgettable and the wildlife terrifying. Each member of the group faced their fears to complete the challenge. Many then went on to volunteer at a local school and orphanage in Lusaka. Over £30,000 in much needed funds was raised by the group.
The next trek we have available exclusively to Acorns supporters is the Inca Trail Trek in October this year. To find out more see www.acorns.org.uk/incatrail, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 0844 984 0405.
