Acorns Midnight Walk
BIRMINGHAM – SATURDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER 2010
A big thank you to everyone who has signed up to take part in the Midnight Walk - see you on Saturday night!
Once again the streets of Birmingham will come alive with flashing headbands and fluorescent clothes as hundreds of women take to the 10km city centre route by moonlight, starting and finishing at Millennium Point.
Acorns hope to recruit 2,000 enthusiastic ladies to take part with friends, sisters, mothers, daughters, grandmothers and colleagues in the event that takes in the sights of Birmingham City Centre by night. You can choose to walk in memory of a loved one, in celebration, to get fit, to fundraise or simply have fun!
Listen to Julie, an Acorns mum, on BRMB talking about how Acorns has helped her family.
This inspirational event aims to remind the community how a good night’s sleep for families with a life limited child is
hard to achieve, and that Acorns round-the-clock support is often a lifeline. Last years event saw 1,500 women come together for Acorns to raise an amazing £125,000! It is hoped that the 2010 event will be an even greater success.
Listen to Catherine, an Acorns mum, on BRMB talking about how Acorns has helped her family.
Lindsey Homer, Head Nurse at our Birmingham hospice, explains about our care services and how you can help by signing up for the Midnight Walk.
