Yet\, just four days after he was born\, they noticed something wasn’t quite right. \nAt seven days old\, little Alfie was diagnosed with aortic atresia and underwent his first open-heart surgery. His second followed at seven months old\, his third at two years old\, and in 2023\, at just 10\, Alfie bravely endured his fourth open-heart surgery. \nFor Clare\, each hospital visit feels like a blur.
