It’s the time of year to make new memories as well as take time to remember those who are loved and missed. Whether you’d like to make a dedication to someone who has used our services, or if they have no direct connection to Acorns, Celebrate Your Star is the perfect gift for remembering a loved one this Christmas.
When you donate to Celebrate Your Star, two stars will be created in your loved one’s name. One will be hung on the Christmas tree at your nearest Acorns Children’s Hospice, and the other will be sent to you to hang in pride of place at home. Your loved one’s name will also be included in our Book of Remembrance which is displayed at our Celebrate Your Star events.
Your gift is a vital link to support local children and families who are using Acorns this Christmas, helping us to be stronger together.
Our Celebrate Your Star events have now finished for 2023. Thank you to everyone who joined us to remember our stars and look ahead to the festive season.
Our 2024 Celebrate Your Star events will launch in Autumn 2024.
Your gifts make a big difference to children and families using Acorns. Thanks to your generosity, we receive around 60% of the funding needed to provide care for children with life limiting and life threatening conditions from our amazing community of supporters. Only with your support can we be here for local children and their families this Christmas and all year round. Together, we are stronger.
Here are just a few examples of how your gift helps us be stronger together at Christmas:
We will have a list of all attendees on the door and their group numbers, so please simply arrive at our reception desk and state your name and our team will do the rest.
If you’ve got any last-minute request from family or friends who would like to join you at the event, please get in touch as we have limited spaces available. You can email inmemory@acorns.org.uk or call 07458 040252.
If you, or your guests, would like to donate for an additional star they will be available and ready to take home from the event.
As well as enjoying the event, there’ll be the opportunity to purchase hot drinks and cakes during the interval and browse a range of Acorns Christmas Cards which are available on the night. We would recommend bringing cash to the event as card payments will not be possible for Christmas Cards.
