By donating a special gift to our Dandelion Appeal today, you can help local families like Luca’s.

Luca was just 15 months old when he was diagnosed with Tay Sachs disease. His parents Tony and Zoe came to Acorns for end of life care, after doctors told them that there was nothing they could do to make him better. At Acorns we helped the family spend quality time together and create mementos, like footprint paintings, that they could treasure forever.

Your kind donation of £25 could provide a memory box and a framed resin casting of a child’s handprint and footprint.

Every penny raised will help us be there for parents when we are needed most. With your help we can guide families, support them practically and emotionally, and create memory boxes and mementos which families can go through to remember the happy times they had with their child.

How your Dandelion helped local families

Facing the death of a child is possibly the hardest thing a parent can go through. Thank you to those who dedicated a Dandelion to our appeal. You ensured we can be there every step of the way, giving them the support they need during that most difficult time.

“When we look back at those final few days we spent at Acorns with Luca, we realise just how eternally grateful we are to them for the support they gave us.

We had someone there every step of the way, gently guiding us through the most difficult time. I can’t even begin to imagine what it would have been like without them.”
