Donations in Wills
A gift for the future
You can help Acorns to support local children with life limiting or life threatening conditions by leaving a gift in your Will. Acorns provide respite/short break, emergency and end of life care, with a family team worker to support the family 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Legacies have have helped Acorns to support over 2,480 children and their families since being established in 1988.
How you can help
As a charity, we have to rely on our supporters, like you, to provide the majority of our funding through donations and fundraising, to make our work possible. A particularly important way that you can support our work is by making a donation in your Will, also known as leaving a legacy. Without kind gifts made in this way, our ability to provide vital care services to over 800 children who we currently look after across the region would be compromised.
So, once you have cared for your loved ones in your Will perhaps you could think about including another family in your wishes - an Acorns family.
How your gift will make a difference
A donation in your Will, however large or small, can help to make sure that Acorns can continue to provide specialist care services. Whether these fund physiotherapists to provide sessions in the hydrotherapy pools, a nurse giving end-of-life care to a child or a community worker comforting a family after their child's bereavement, you will be making real difference.
“When we were in hospital we couldn’t go home, so Acorns was like a home option to us. To be outside of the hospital environment was so important and it gave us a chance to be a family again. We’ve got lots of precious memories from those times together."
