Make a Will Month
Registration for this our Make a Will Month scheme has now ended. Thank you to all of those who have registered to take part, if they haven't done so already your preferred law firm will be in touch soon to discuss drawing up your will.
Our specialist nurses
...like Sian provide care, support, fun and laughter for the children and young people who access our services.
Instead of paying your law firm for their basic single or basic joint will writing service (which is FREE as part of our Make a Will Month) we're asking if you would consider making a voluntary donation to Acorns? We rely on the local community to fund the majority of our activities which is why your support means so much.
£80* for a basic single will or £130* for a basic joint will could pay for vital care from a nurse like Sian.
If you're registered on our Make a Will Month scheme and would like to make a donation you can either do this online by clicking here, alternatively you can send a cheque made out to Acorns Children's Hospice Trust, please send this to "Make a Will Month, Acorns Children's Hospice, Drakes Court, Alcester Road, Wythall, Birmingham, B47 6JR.
*Typically the fees associated with a basic single will is £100-£200 and £150-£300 for a basic joint will.

What if there isn't a local law firm listed in my area?
Whilst we have tried ensure there are solicitors in Walsall, Worcester and Birmingham, we are unable to guarantee that the law firms will be based within close proximity to your local area. However Bequest Wills and Dunham McCarthy offer a home visit service across the region.
Why is the suggested voluntary donation £80 for a single Will and £130 for a joint Will?
The cost of a single basic will is £100-200 and a basic joint will is £200-300, however through this scheme you will be able to have a basic will drawn up for FREE with one of our participating firms. Instead of paying their usual fee, we're asking if you would support Acorns by making a voluntary donation. The amounts suggested will help us to continue to provide our vital care services to local life limited or life threatened children.
Our specialist nurses have a variety of experience and come from a whole range of different backgrounds, such as general hospitals, community, intensive care units or schools to name a few. Here at Acorns they provide care, support, fun and laughter for the children and young people who access our services.
