Bubble Rush 2023

Bubble Rush is back for 2023!

We still have a few places left to buy in person but online ticket sales are now closed.

Please come along to Walsall Arboretum on Sunday for all the frothy fun and book your place in person!

This year’s frothy fun run will take place at Walsall Arboretum on 23rd July 2023. Jog, walk, dance or toddle your way around the family-friendly Bubble Rush course, bursting through a rainbow of bubbles as you go. The course is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, and there’s no minimum or maximum age limit.

The route will be two approximately 2.5km loops, giving you the chance to get covered in colourful bubbles an amazing eight times! But don’t worry, if 5km is too far you can just do the one loop. The event is not timed, so you are not racing anyone – the most important thing is to have bubbly fun and finish with a big smile on your face!

*Online tickets for Bubble Rush are now closed. We still have a few places available for you to join us on the day, so please come along to Walsall Arboretum on Sunday for all the frothy fun and book your place in person!

Frequently asked questions

What is a Bubble Rush?

Walsall Bubble Rush is a family-friendly event where you can walk, jog or run around the course. It is not about speed or winning, it’s about having fun and enjoying the bubbles!

The course itself is approximately 2.5km long and has four Bubble Stations, each with a different coloured foam. The full event route is two laps – so you can choose to complete the course just once if you prefer, or go around a second time for double the bubbles!

Who can take part?

The Bubble Rush is suitable for all ages! Anyone can take part including those in pushchairs and wheelchairs. The course is partly on grass so please bear this in mind when registering as there are areas of uneven ground.

Children aged 15 years and under must take part alongside a paying adult and be accompanied throughout the event. School and youth groups who take part must have adequate supervision.

All tickets include a t-shirt and a medal (except for under 3s who just receive a medal)

What should I wear?

T-shirts are included in the ticket price (ages 3 to adult) and will be available to collect on the morning of the event at the registration desk. Other comfortable clothes and shoes are also recommended – dress up if you’d like to! The bubbles will turn your white t-shirt different colours and will come out of your clothing but we do advise wearing clothes you don’t mind getting messy! We also recommend that you change your clothes as soon as possible after the event, and that you don’t wash them with anything else.

Do I need to fundraise for this event?

By registering for this event, you commit to trying to raise a minimum of £15 per person. The Acorns Events team are here to help and will be in touch regularly with hints and tips for your fundraising!

Your registration fee only covers the cost of putting the event on, so anything you can raise will go directly to helping local children and their families who rely on Acorns for support every day. You can make a start today by creating your own JustGiving page.

About the foam

The bubble solution is a mild and very dilute soapy liquid. The colour is a synthetic dye used in food colouring. All of the materials used have been tested and are 100% safe for human consumption and do not harm the environment.

The bubble mixture is suitable for nut allergy sufferers, is gluten-free and vegetarian and vegan-friendly.

Upon running through the Bubble Stations, all children must be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for their safety at this point. Small children may need to be lifted through some parts of the bubble stations, and we recommend they wear sunglasses/swimming goggles to protect their eyes.

There is a chance that this foam may stain some lighter coloured clothes and pushchairs, so please be aware of this before you come to the event. You can always leave the pushchair at the side of the bubbles while you go through. If going through the bubbles, we strongly recommend that pushchairs are covered with rain guards etc.

Can I bring my dog?

You can bring your dog to the event village but unfortunately dogs cannot take part in this event so they will need to be left with a friend or family member who is not taking part. Any dogs that are with spectators must be kept on a lead at all times.

What facilities will be there?

There will be toilets on site. Showers will not be available so come prepared – we recommend that you bring an old towel, spare clothes and a bin bag to put your bubbly running clothes in. Some water will be available in the event village but you are advised to bring your own water bottles for the route too.

There will be food and refreshments on sale, as well as other stalls and entertainment, and an energetic and fun warm-up to get you ready for your bubbly run!

There will NOT be a bag drop or allocated areas to leave your personal belongings, so please only bring essential items or arrange to leave them with a family member or friend spectating. Acorns cannot be help responsible for any loss or damage to vehicles or personal belongings.

Is there parking available?

Parking will be available at the Arboretum car park, Broadway N, Walsall WS1 2QB. Marshalls will direct you when entering the site.

Will there be photos of the day?

Acorns will have photographers on site on the day. Please notify the photographer on the day if you do not wish your group to be photographed. If you bring your own camera or smartphone be sure you cover them well to protect them from the foam.

What if it rains on the day?

That won’t stop us! Be prepared!

Can I take part if I’m pregnant?

We don’t feel it would be safe for you to take part whilst pregnant. However, pushchairs are welcome and there’s no minimum age limit at Bubble Rush – so we hope you’ll join us with your little one in the future!
