If you’d still like to Glow the distance we have a virtual option available too! You have until the 31st October to complete your walk, on your own or as a group, at a time and place to suit you! There is no entry fee, but we ask that you raise a minimum of £10 sponsorship. Once you’ve raised this amount we will send you your fundraising pack and glow accessories! Join our Facebook Group to be part of the Glow Community and to post pictures of you glowing the distance!
Acorns Glow Walk is a fun, family event, and is suitable for all ages. By taking part you’ll be supporting Acorns Children’s Hospice in the Black Country to continue providing exceptional care, love and support to local life limited and life threatened children and their families.
2020 saw the launch of Glow Walk for Acorns as a virtual event, in which over 200 people had great fun lighting up the night. We raised over £7,000 to help keep our hospice doors open in the Black Country to over 220 children and over 1,100 family members who use our lifeline services. Now that we can get together safely, Glow Walk 2021 will see us come together as a community to light up the night at Walsall Arboretum!

Thanks to the exceptional support of our local community and people like you, £1.6m was raised in 2019-2020 to help secure the future of the Black Country hospice and keep its doors open. At a time when demand for our care has never been greater, it is vitally important that our hospice remains open, so that we can be there for every child and their family who needs us, now and in the future. Every bit of fundraising, no matter how big or small, makes a real difference.
All funds raised will go directly to supporting our Acorns Black Country Hospice Appeal. We’re asking that you raise a minimum sponsorship of £10 per person to help us continue to be there for local children and families who rely on our vital care and support.
Acorns is a place where Esme can come and have happy times and we can have valuable respite. It’s vital for that. Acorns is a real lifeline for the families it supports.

Your safety is our priority, and safety measures are in place to keep our participants, volunteers and the wider community safe such as limiting participant numbers and staggering start times to avoid crowding.

Child tickets are for children aged 2 – 14 years only. Under 2 years are free. All children must be accompanied by an Adult.
In order to deliver a safe, covid-friendly event, all tickets must be pre-purchased online by noon on Friday 22nd October. There will be no sign-ups on the day.
The course is a 5km marked and marshalled route around Walsall Arboretum and lake. You may walk, jog, dance or hop your way around the course. 10km option is a double loop of the course. Don’t forget it’s night time so the majority of the course will be dark – we recommend a torch and to look where you are going! The course is on paths, tracks, and some grassy areas.

The more the merrier! You will be able to enter the site from the main entrance, but please do not go on the course itself. There will be facilities (see above) for your refreshment.
