Kilimanjaro Trek

Explore one of Britain’s beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Its snow-capped summit rises high above the dusty African plains; huge permanent glaciers flow down from the summit, spectacular views and beautiful ice formations are the reward for pushing our limits both physically and mentally on this, the mightiest of charity challenges.

This is a tough trek which follows the beautiful Machame Route, approaching Kilimanjaro from the south. The route has been designed allowing gradual acclimatisation to the altitude – with an extra day included from the more traditional Machame Route, this gives you the platform for summit success. With exceptional support and care combined with highly trained leaders and medics, you will achieve and conquer the toughest of treks.

The trek takes you through dense tropical rainforest, moorland and scree until you reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point. This is one of the most challenging treks at altitude, climbing one of the most impressive mountains in the world. On reaching the summit you’ll feel a sense of overwhelming achievement – a truly unforgettable challenge.

By taking part in this event and joining #TeamAcorns you will be raising money for life-limited and life-threatened babies, children, and young people across the West Midlands.

There are various dates available throughout 2022 and 2023, click on the sign up now button to see all availability and more event information.

Making every day count for local children
We can only continue providing care, support, fun and laughter for local life limited and life threatened children with your support.
Did you know? When you fundraise £120 it could pay for a child and their family to have a hydrotherapy session with a Physiotherapist. This can help to ease aching muscles and stiff joints, reducing pain and giving a sense of relaxation.

Kick start your fundraising

We’re here to support you all the way! By signing up for the event you will receive an Acorns running vest, support from our Events team to help with your training and fundraising and the amazing feeling you’ll get from knowing you’re making a real difference to local children!
