It’s time to declutter and do good!

Organising a bag drive at your workplace is a great way to achieve corporate social responsibility goals, support our vital care for local life limited and life threatened children and help us keep our shops stocked with good quality items.

How do I take part?

  • Get your FREE donation bags. Complete our online form to request your bags.
  • Set a date and tell everyone. Promote your bag drive with our posters. You’ll receive one with your bags and you can download more here.
  • Get competitive. Hold a competition to see who can bring in the most bags and keep track with a leader board in the staff room.
  • Raise 25% more with Gift Aid. Ask colleagues to complete a Gift Aid form (supplied with your donation bags) for their donated items to make their donations worth 25% more.
  • Book a collection. When you’ve filled your donation bags we’ll come and collect them*. Simply let us know your preferred collection date when completing your bag request form. Although we can’t guarantee your preferred date, we will contact you to confirm your booking. If you want to arrange a collection at a later date, please email supporterservices@acorns.org.uk or call 01564 825 037.

*Please note our minimum collection amount is 20 bags, anything less than this can be dropped off at your local Acorns shop. Please allow 10 working days for your collection.

What can I donate?

We’re always looking for good quality donations of:

  • Children’s clothes from 0yrs to 15yrs
  • Children’s toys, games, books and media
  • Children’s nursery equipment
  • Ladies clothes, handbags, shoes and accessories
  • Men’s clothing, shoes and accessories
  • Household items – such as bric-a-brac, small electrical items (as long as CE marked), china and pottery, linen, curtains and blankets
  • Books and media – including CDs and DVDs

Why Spirax-Sarco held a bag drive 

Employees at Spirax-Sarco voted for Acorns as the company’s 2019 charity partner and throughout the year staff have been fundraising to support Acorns work caring for children and families.

Their most recent drive saw teams at both sites support Acorns retail shops by backing a charity bag collection.

The initiative, led by Andrew Aiken, Product Support Triage Executive at Spirax-Sarco, called on staff to bring a bag full of good-quality items for Acorns to sell in its shops.

An incredible 70 bags full to the brim were donated by the manufacturing company’s kind-hearted employees.
