Volunteer in fundraising

In community fundraising and the events team, we have many volunteers who help - this may be attending a cheque presentation, marshalling at an event organised by our events team, or helping to raise the profile of Acorns by going out to different men’s/women’s groups and schools to talk about the work of Acorns.

Can you volunteer?

If you are available for volunteering your time please fill in our online application form.

Alternatively, please download and save our paper application form here and email it to supporterservices@acorns.org.uk

Fundraising groups

We are looking for people to set up or join fundraising groups to help raise awareness and vital funds for Acorns in your area. We are looking to establish groups in Birmingham and Warwickshire, the Black Country and the Three Counties.

Click here to find your local Acorns fundraising group and details about setting up your own.

Volunteering roles

We have roles right across Birmingham, the Black Country and the Three Counties which always require the help of volunteers:

Public collections
Public collections are a way in which we are able to boost much needed donations. You'll be holding a bucket, smiling and chatting to people while collecting donations for our hospices – what could be simpler or more rewarding!

Events volunteer
Our events team are always on the lookout for volunteers to help at our events, who are vital to their success. This may be as a marshal, helping to set up, taking registrations or helping to pack away at the end.

Event speaker
Confident public speakers are needed to represent Acorns locally. We will provide you with all of the information you need to be able to talk about the care we provide to children, young people and families and help raise awareness of Acorns

Collection tin coordinator
Looking after the collection tins in your local area - replacing full tins, keeping records and asking local businesses to have a tin will generate valuable donations for Acorns.
