Make a donation to remember someone special

Many of the generous donations received by Acorns Children’s Hospice are made in memory of a loved one. Gifts in memory are a very poignant way for you to remember someone special, while also directly supporting local children and young people with life limiting and life threatening conditions and their families.

How would you like to remember your loved one?

Tribute Fund

Having a Tribute Fund makes it easy for you, your family and your friends to raise money for Acorns in their memory. Together, watch your tribute grow with contributions from family and friends.

Funeral collections

Collecting charitable donations instead of buying flowers at a funeral or other remembrance service is a lovely way to celebrate a loved one’s life while helping to benefit others.

Fundraising in memory

We have opportunities to fundraise throughout the year, with many people choosing to take part to raise money in memory of someone who is much loved and missed.

Almost any activity can be used to raise money for Acorns. From a sponsored walk to a skydive, a cake sale to a ball – there‘s something everyone can do to help make a difference to children and young people using our services.

Whether you fundraise alone or with friends, in a group or club, at school, college or work, there are loads of fundraising ideas to help raise vital funds for a good cause while remembering your loved one. We are here to help and support you every step of the way.

Funeral collections

Choosing to ask for a donation to support Acorns, instead of buying flowers for a funeral service, is a simple way you can help to make every day count for local children and their families and a meaningful way of honouring your loved one.

We can help to make this as simple as possible on the day by providing collection envelopes. These make it easy for friends and family to donate and include a Gift Aid option to make their gift worth even more for Acorns. Some families choose to have a collection tin as well. We will discuss your needs and wishes with you.

Once we have received the money from your collection, we will send a thank you letter and let you know how much has been raised in memory of your loved one.

You or your funeral director can order the envelopes by calling us on 01564 825 039 or by emailing inmemory@acorns.org.uk, we’ll be happy to help and answer any questions you may have. To ensure your envelopes arrive before the service please give as much notice as possible.
