When a child you love has limited time it is important to make every day count. At Acorns, as well as providing around the clock vital care and support, our nurses, care staff and volunteers create a world where children can be children. Whether it’s enjoying a splash in our accessible pool with their siblings or socialising with other children during our arts and crafts workshops. Because of you, we will be there, by their side creating memories and providing specialist care and support.
By setting up a monthly gift today, you will be part of a special group of people in your local community who will be making every moment count.
Sophia has 11 heart defects, epilepsy and a condition called heterotaxy. This means that she has all her organs but they aren’t in the right place, which causes lots of complications.
“We were referred to Acorns by our community nurse. We’d heard of Acorns but didn’t understand fully what they did. I was very nervous to walk through the door, but we got the warmest welcome – they were all so lovely. At Acorns everyone understands, I feel like the normal mum for once when I’m here.
“Coming to Acorns was the best thing we ever did. I’m so happy when we’re here. This is definitely our happy place.”– Chantelle, Sophia’s mum
