Anyone can do something special to raise funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Whether you’re an experienced fundraiser or a first-timer, you can make a big difference. We’ve put together six simple fundraising ideas to help get you started!
Gather together some fantastic prizes and hold a raffle. See if local shops may be able to donate some prizes.
Organise a quiz and find out who has the best general knowledge! You could even add some challenges within the rounds to make it more fun.
Organise your own bake off – who will triumph and who will be left with a soggy bottom? You could sell your baked goods at school or work to raise extra funds.
Organise a car wash in the car park of your workplace, school, or even at home! You could even do it in fancy dress to make it more fun.
Take on a sponsored challenge to give up fast food, chocolate or your favourite drink – any habit you may want to break whilst raising funds for a great cause!
Gather your unwanted items from family and friends and hold a sale. You could even get crafty and sell your own handmade items.

Acorns gives families the power of choice when their child dies. We help them make heartbreaking decisions in those final moments. The power of choice allows them to say goodbye where they feel most comfortable.
£100 raised could provide the funds for a family to stay overnight by their child’s side at Acorns.
Acorns gives children the chance to enjoy moments of life free from or with reduced pain so they can sing, swim and express who they are in their own way. The freedom of movement offers relief and allows them to just be children.
£175 raised could provide the funds for a child and their family to have a hydrotherapy session with a Physiotherapist.
Our Outreach service gives greater choice on how families access our help. By going directly to homes and the local community, we reduce isolation and ensure families know we are here for them whenever and wherever they need us.
£550 raised could fund the role of an Outreach Support Worker for a week.
Nurses are at the heart of what we do and make Acorns the special place it is. Our specialist Children’s Palliative Care Nurses are trained to deliver the highest standards of care, tailored to the complex needs of the children they work with.
£1,000 raised could pay for an Acorns nurse to enrol on an essential Principles of Physical Assessment course for one year.
