Acorns Response to Coronavirus

Here you can find the latest information on how we are responding to the Covid-19 national emergency at Acorns Children’s Hospice.

At any time, our purpose at Acorns Children’s Hospice is to support some of the most vulnerable children and families across our region.

We are in uncertain times, but no matter what happens over the coming months, the need for vital emergency and end of life hospice care for local children won’t go away.

At a time of unprecedented national emergency, we are drawing up emergency plans that will allow us at Acorns to prioritise children’s hospice care for the most vulnerable, whilst directly or indirectly supporting the wider emergency response of our NHS and social care system.

We are working in a very challenging time, where many of our traditional sources of income have been greatly impacted. As events and fundraising activities across the country are cancelled, and our network of 50 shops are temporarily closed, we are feeling the impact. Support from the public and our supporters is as important as ever, and there are lots of ways that people can continue supporting our work from the safety of home.
