When it comes to supporting children and families, Acorns is there at every stage of their child’s life.
Our Stay and Play group is just one of the ways we help make every day count for hundreds of children and families across the West Midlands.
The groups bring together families with children under five who have life limiting and life threatening conditions.
Run by care staff and trained volunteers, the sessions enable youngsters and their siblings to play in a safe, friendly space, while enabling mums, dads and carers to meet up, share experiences and get support.
This month, we had a cracking time with children and families at Acorns in the Black Country as we celebrated Easter.
Youngsters and their parents enjoyed an egg-stra special Easter Stay and Play session at our Walsall hospice, in Walstead Road.
April’s Stay and Play was filled with egg-citing Easter themed activities, including Easter bonnet making, Easter crafts, an Easter bonnet parade, cake making, an egg hunt and sensory story time.
The group was also treated to some delicious cupcakes and Easter biscuits to enjoy with a cup of tea.
