How you can help us as we continue to ‘deliver’ essential care

Acorns staff with donations

This is a scary time for children and families at Acorns but with your help we’re doing all we can to support them during the pandemic.

One of the ways we’re continuing to be there is by making sure the most vulnerable children and families we support still have access to essential items – such as toiletries, baby milk and food.

Thanks to incredible donations from our local community we’re able to deliver care packages of essential items to those who need them most.

These care packages are vital for families who have been isolating at home since news of the coronavirus crisis emerged. A simple task like going to the shops is not possible for families caring for a life limited or life threatened child – the threat of exposure is just too great.

But, with your generosity, we’ve been able to support families across the West Midlands. But more help is needed. Please join us in the fight against coronavirus by donating essential items for our care packages.

Donations can be made in person at all three of our hospices, based in Walsall, Worcester and Birmingham, between the hours of 9am-5pmMonday to Friday.

If you need to drop your donations off outside of these hours or at the weekend, we have special orange storage bins outside our hospices to deposit your items.

Essential items include:

  • Tea / coffee
  • Squash
  • Long life milk
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Tinned tomatoes, vegetables and fruit
  • Tinned meat / fish
  • Cleaning products (disinfectant, anti bacterial cleaning sprays, wipes, bleach)
  • Shower gel
  • Shampoo / conditioners
  • Deodorant
  • Baby milk and nappies

If you would like to make your donations in person, our hospices are at the following addresses:

Acorns for the Three Counties

350 Bath Road,

Acorns in Birmingham

103 Oak Tree Lane,
Selly Oak,
B29 6HZ

Acorns in the Black Country

* Our Walsall based hospice has been so overwhelmed by your generous donations that we are asking supporters to kindly refrain from giving essential items for the time being. In the meantime, there are plenty of other ways you can support us below.
