Another leading Midlands business is sponsoring an exclusive charity lunch which is bringing together two of the West Midlands most celebrated figures.
Award-winning screenwriter and director Steven Knight CBE and respected businessman and Mayor of the West Midlands Andy Street CBE are teaming up for a one-off ‘in conversation with…’ event for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Vision Plc, independent specialist providers of award-winning managed print, document and IT services, has joined the intimate lunch on Thursday 5 March as a headline sponsor.
The company joins the renowned Charles Stanley and Co, one of the oldest firms on the London Stock Exchange, as headline sponsor.
Hosted by Marc Reeves, Editor-in-Chief of Reach Plc Midlands, ‘Steven Knight CBE In Conversation with Andy Street CBE’ is taking place in support of the charity’s Save Acorns Black Country Hospice Appeal.
A spokesperson for Vision Plc said: “Vision is proud to be associated with Acorns and is very happy to help support this charity lunch. Acorns continues to provide a vitally important service to local families and in common with the larger charity arena has to continually compete for funds to meet its needs.
“It is Vision’s hope that we might play an increasingly important part in supporting Acorns going forward.”
‘Steven Knight CBE in Conversation with Andy Street CBE’ will explore the formidable duo’s journey to success as well as their ambitious plans to make the creative arts as much a hallmark of Birmingham’s identity as its rich industrialist past. The event is set within the Council Chamber; a must-see venue not usually open to the public.
The Save Acorns Black Country Hospice Appeal was launched by Acorns in July as the proposed closure of its hospice in Walsall was put on hold following pledges of additional NHS support, that should ensure the hospice is adequately funded from 2023/24 onwards.

Notes to editors:
Due to the sensitive nature of Acorns care services it refrains from using the words ‘terminal’ or ‘terminally ill’ in its press releases and public communications when describing the children who use Acorns and the conditions that they have. Instead, Acorns uses the words ‘life limited’, ‘life limiting’, or ‘life threatening’. Acorns kindly requests that you respect this in your communications when referring to Acorns Children’s Hospice. Acorns children have a lot of living to do. Thank you.
• It costs £27,000 every day to run Acorns services providing care for children and support for their families. The charity relies heavily on donations to fund the majority of its activities.
