Services provided by Acorns in the event of a local lockdown
As it stands, there is no immediate change to the services provided by Acorns. Should any local lockdown be introduced, Acorns hospices will continue to be open for essential planned care and support for children and families, including:
- End of life care
- Children resident already at the hospices
- Planned emergency stays
- Essential Outreach support in family homes
All admissions will be assessed on individual need and a full risk assessment completed.
Services that will be placed on hold unless assessed as essential
- Planned booked (i.e. non-emergency) stays
- Therapeutic support, including hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, music therapy, multisensory therapy, booked visits to the Birmingham hospice’s gardens
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call your local hospice and we will be able to assist you.
