Acorns Children’s Hospice and the UK Sepsis Trust have worked in partnership to develop new Sepsis screening tools, for use in paediatric palliative care settings for children with complex needs aged 0-12.
Three Sepsis screening tools have been developed, for the age groups: 0-5, 5-11 and 12 years. These tools are NICE guidance compliant and developed to be used alongside a nursing assessment if healthcare teams are concerned a baby or child is unwell.
In the video below, Gemma Williams from Acorns Children’s Hospice and Dr Ron Daniels and Oliver Jones from the UK Sepsis Trust celebrate the partnership working which has enabled them to develop these tools.
