Acorns copyright and trademarks

Here at Acorns, we put a lot of effort into creating unique and interesting content about our hospice, charitable work and the families we care for.

Acorns is the owner and copyright holder of https://www.acorns.org.uk/ and all of its contents, which include but are not limited to text, images, audio clips, video clips and website coding. We ask that you do not use our website or any of its copyrighted content for commercial purposes. This includes modifying, adapting, publishing and distributing our content.

We welcome users to visit our website and read through our content – after all, that’s what it’s there for! You have our permission to use it for personal use, so if you want to download a copy to your desktop or mobile browser, you are free to do so. We’re even happy for you to print off a single copy of our website and its content, if you are using it personally.

As a charity, we’re all about spreading the word and reaching new audiences, so we’re more than happy for you to share the Acorns website and its content with your peers. All that we ask is that you include a link to the Acorns homepage, so people know it’s the original source.

Whilst we’re happy for the Acorns website to be used for personal reasons, if you want or need to use it for something else, we ask that you get in touch with us first. Email Supporter Services explaining what you would like to use our content for. We’ll then get back to you and let you know if we are happy for you to proceed. We reserve the right to decline permission to use our copyrighted content if we do not think it is appropriate or beneficial to our charity.

If our copyright is breached, we will reserve the right to take legal action. Our first step is to give people the benefit of the doubt and allow them a chance to make amends. We’ll send an email asking for them to remove our copyrighted content from their website or publication and providing they oblige, no further action will be necessary. Unfortunately, if our polite request is declined or ignored, we will reserve the right to take legal action and may choose to seek an injunction to prevent the third party from continuing to use our content.

If you notice the Acorns website or its content (without a credited link to our homepage) anywhere else, we ask that you get in touch and let us know. We will then be able to take the necessary steps to ensure our content is either credited to us, the original source, or removed.

Please note that some of the material (including some documents and photos) has been published on this website with the permission of the relevant copyright owners (who are not Acorns). All rights are reserved on these materials and permission to copy them must be requested from the copyright owners (the sources are indicated within these documents/photographs).

Our team makes every effort to ensure that this website and its content are 100% unique. If however you believe we may have infringed your copyright, we ask that you let us know, so we can resolve the issue with you immediately.
