The future of children’s hospice care is in your hands

Little Patrick needs your help. The care that children and families like him rely on is under threat.

Children’s hospices across the country continue to face the unimaginable prospect of turning away a dying child because the future of vital, government funding is in doubt. We simply have no idea if the Children’s Hospice Grant will continue.

We are urgently calling on the Government to guarantee the grant or equivalent sustainable funding for at least the next five years, so Acorns and other children’s hospices like ours can continue providing lifeline care to families during the darkest time of their lives.

Meet Patrick

This is Patrick. He’s a beautiful boy, with the most gorgeous eyelashes, but his mum fears a future where the care he desperately needs no longer exists.

Little Patrick suffered a brain injury when he was born unexpectedly at home. Acorns now provides vital care and a tailored medical plan to meet all of his needs.

Mum Keri says the two-year-old’s future is uncertain and that life without Acorns would be ‘impossible’.

Keri said: “To imagine a world where children’s hospice care doesn’t exist due to lack of Government funding is unthinkable.”
