Thanks for raising your hand to secure children’s hospice care

Little Patrick asked for your help – and thousands of you united and your voices were heard. Following our successful campaign the Government announced vital funding to secure the future of children’s hospice care across England.

In a stunning victory for Acorns Children’s Hospice, more than 36,000 of you – including Patrick – backed our urgent petition to the Prime Minister to safeguard lifeline care for dying and seriously ill children.

Following months of campaigning and a huge outpouring of public support, the Government confirmed a three-year plan for hospices across England.

Meet Patrick

Patrick is a beautiful two-year-old boy, with the most gorgeous eyelashes. He continues to fight against the odds.

Patrick suffered a brain injury when he was born unexpectedly at home. Acorns now provides vital care and a tailored medical plan to meet all of his needs.

Mum Keri said: “During my first visit to Acorns I got lost trying to find the bathroom, and I saw one of the nurses in a room singing songs to a child, and she didn’t even know I was there. I knew from that moment that I was in the right place – and that it was a magical place.”

Patrick still needs your help! It costs more than £40,000 each day to provide specialist palliative care at Acorns for babies, children and teenagers. But despite Government funding, more than 75 percent of our funding still comes from you. Donate or get involved with Acorns today by clicking here.
