Time Machine Campaign

Give seriously-ill children more time to be kids

At Acorns, we give families time for the important stuff by taking care of the serious stuff - managing pain, symptoms and medication and providing end-of-life care with skill and compassion.

Our Time Machine appeal powers this specialist care and support, helping more families of seriously-ill children make time for what matters most - being together doing what they love.

Polly and Amy
Polly and Amy’s story

“I just want to be mum.”

For Amy, time is not abstract. It is measured in medication routines, tube feeding, oxygen, seizures, appointments and constant monitoring.

Polly has complex, life-limiting needs, and Amy carries the responsibility of her care every hour of the day and night. Home can feel like a hospital, and even ordinary family moments can be shaped by planning, worry and exhaustion.

“When Polly is at Acorns I know everything is taken care of and I can just breathe.”

When Polly is at Acorns, Amy knows specialist nurses understand her needs. For a short time, she does not have to carry everything alone. She can breathe. She can spend time with Polly and Nancy not only as a carer, but as mum.
