Acorns are incredibly proud to be the chosen charity supported by Aston Villa FC Women!

Acorns are the chosen charity supported by Acton Villa FC women at their game against Arsenal Women on Wednesday 30th April.

Villa fans are at the heart of our community, much like Acorns specialist children’s hospices. We’re asking fans to unite with Acorns to bring hope and joy to local children facing life’s toughest challenges – for fans to be ‘part of the Pride’ that extends beyond the stands, a pride that cares, shares, and transforms lives.

Ways to support

  • Text ACORNS to 70450 to donate £5 to Acorns*
  • Make a donation via our website
  • Share your pride – use #PartOfThePride and #AcornsChildrensHospice to share that you’ve donated and made a difference

Together, we can make a lasting impact. Let’s show the strength of the Villa Pride and bring smiles to those who need them most.

*Texts cost the donation amount plus one standard network rate message.

How your donation helps

In the past year, Acorns has cared for 781 children and 1,045 families across our region.

As a collective, £35,000 raised could pay for an entire day of vital care at all three of our West Midlands hospices. Your generous donation has the power to make an impact on someone’s life.

£5

£5 could allow us to provide lunch and dinner for a child in one of our hospices.

£20

£20 could fund the resources our clinical Outreach team requires when providing short breaks in the family home.

£45

£45 could fund one hour of specialist palliative care for a child in a hospice.

Alfie and his family are Part of the Pride

For parents Clare and Anthony, Alfie was the perfect addition to their family, and they couldn’t wait to meet him. Yet, just four days after he was born, they noticed something wasn’t quite right.

At seven days old, little Alfie was diagnosed with aortic atresia and underwent his first open-heart surgery. His second followed at seven months old, his third at two years old, and in 2023, at just 10, Alfie bravely endured his fourth open-heart surgery.

For Clare, each hospital visit feels like a blur. But for superfan Alfie, there’s only one thing on his mind – football.

So, when Alfie had the chance to meet his football heroes at Acorns Children’s Hospice, where he and his family receive lifeline care and support, he was over the moon. “I’ve played FIFA with Digne and I even beat McGinn 5-1 this year!” Alfie says.

It’s just one of the many precious memories Acorns has helped them create.
