If you have quality furniture to donate, we may be able to collect it from your home for free. Your donated items are then sold in our shops to help raise vital funds for local children and families supported by Acorns.

Our collection service is best suited to larger furniture items, or multiple smaller items collected together.

What we're looking for

We're most likely to collect larger, good quality furniture that we can resell in our shops.

  • Sofas and armchairs
  • Dining tables and chairs
  • Coffee tables and sideboards
  • Wardrobes and chest of drawers
  • Bookcases, desks and cabinets
  • Multiple smaller items as part of one collection

Our free collection service is best suited to larger furniture items, or several smaller items collected together.

To help us make the most of each collection, we prioritise furniture that is in good, saleable condition and ready for resale in our shops.

A few things to check before booking

Checking your furniture before requesting a collection helps us make the best use of our free collection service and ensures donated items are ready for resale in our shops.

Items we may not be able to collect

  • Used mattresses (we do accept new)
  • Damaged or heavily worn furniture
  • Stained or torn upholstered items
  • Furniture with strong odours
  • Flat-packed or dismantled furniture
  • Items with missing parts
  • Upholstered furniture without fire labels where required

All donations must be

  • In good, clean, saleable condition
  • Free from major damage, stains, tears or strong odours
  • Fully assembled and not flat-packed
  • Complete, with no missing parts
  • Fire-labelled where required
Simple booking process

How it works

Booking a free furniture collection is quick and straightforward. Follow these simple steps to arrange your donation.

If we collect in your area, you will be asked to complete the form and select the items you are donating along with your preferred collection date.

We collect

Our collection drivers will collect your items on the agreed date and deliver them to the nearest available store.

Keep updated

If you would like updates about your items, we can contact you via the channel you choose on the form.

What areas do you collect from?

We offer free furniture collections within our local collection areas across the West Midlands. Enter your postcode in the form above to check whether we collect from your address.

What items do you collect?

We're most likely to collect larger furniture items in good, saleable condition, such as sofas, armchairs, tables, wardrobes, drawers, sideboards, bookcases and dining sets.

We can also collect multiple smaller items where there is enough for a collection.

What condition does furniture need to be in?

All items should be in good, clean, saleable condition, free from major damage, stains, tears, strong odours or missing parts.

Do items need to be assembled?

Yes. Furniture should be fully assembled and not flat-packed when collected.

Can I Gift Aid my item?

Yes. When completing the collection form you will be given the option to add Gift Aid.

If you're dropping off donated items at your local Acorns shop, you'll be asked if you would like to Gift Aid them. To sign up, simply complete a quick Gift Aid form and you'll receive a unique Gift Aid Donor ID. When you donate again, you'll just need to let us know your Gift Aid Donor ID.

What items do you not accept?

There are some items we cannot accept, including:

  • Used mattresses (we do accept new)
  • Quilts
  • Pianos
  • Electrical beds
  • Damaged or dirty items
  • Furniture without a fire safety label where required
