From 5th to 11th October, get together with your workplace, school, group, family or friends to play like a kid and raise money for Acorns.

Pick a playful fundraising activity, bring people together and help seriously-ill children enjoy more time just being kids.

Getting involved is as easy as child’s play

You don't need to organise something huge. One playful idea is enough to get started.

Sign up, choose an activity that works for you and raise money in whatever way suits your plans.

  1. Sign up and get your guide

    Register for free and get your Be a Kid Week fundraising guide, filled with ideas and everything you need to get started.

    You don't need to know what activity you are doing before you sign up.

  2. Choose your activity and date

    Find an idea in the Play Hub or create something of your own.

    Choose a date between 5th and 11th October, or take part any time during October.

  3. Decide how you'll raise money

    Ask people to make a donation, pay to take part or sponsor your activity.

    You could collect donations through a JustGiving page, online giving, cash collections or contactless giving where available.

  4. Play, fundraise and share

    Take part, have fun and help childhood take over.

    Share what you’re doing, tag Acorns and use #BeAKidWeek and #Acorns to encourage other people to get involved.

At work

Bring colleagues together through workplace play, from board-game breaks and childhood quizzes to dress-up days, team challenges and fundraising.

At school

Bring Be a Kid Week to your school or college with playground games, non-uniform days, class competitions and activities for pupils, students and staff.

In a group

Get your club, organisation or local community involved with games, challenges, social events or sponsored activities that members can enjoy together.

Spread the word

Share your challenge

Help childhood take over by sharing your games, scores and fundraising progress on social media.

Tag Acorns and use #BeAKidWeek and #Acorns so we can cheer you on and celebrate your challenge.

Don’t forget to get permission before sharing photographs, especially of children and young people.

Be a Kid Week is part of the Acorns Time Machine campaign. Every activity, donation and share can help fund the specialist care that gives children and families more opportunities to play, laugh and make memories together.

What is Be a Kid Week?

Be a Kid Week is a fundraising week where workplaces, schools, groups, families, friends and individuals come together through childhood-inspired activities in support of Acorns Children’s Hospice.

You can play, fundraise, donate and share to help give seriously-ill children more time to be kids.

When is Be a Kid Week?

Be a Kid Week takes place from 5th to 11th October.

Who can take part?

Everyone is welcome.

You can take part at work, at school, in a group, with friends or family, or by yourself.

Does it cost anything to sign up?

No. It is completely free to register and receive your fundraising guide.

Is there a minimum amount I need to raise?

No. There is no minimum fundraising target.

Choose an activity that works for you and raise whatever you can. Every contribution can help Acorns support children and families.

Do I need to choose an activity before signing up?

No. You can sign up first and use your fundraising guide and the Play Hub to find an activity.

How can I raise money?

Choose the approach that works best for your activity.

You could ask people to make a donation, charge a small amount to take part, ask for sponsorship or invite people to give through a shared JustGiving page.

You could collect donations through JustGiving, online giving, cash collections or contactless giving where available.

How do I pay in the money I raise?

You can pay in your Be a Kid Week fundraising online, by bank transfer, by post or over the phone.

When paying online, select Be a Kid Week as your reason for paying in so we can record your fundraising correctly.
